Why I Love My iPod Touch!

The Apple iPod Touch.

Not the iPhone that everyone must have, not the Nano or the classic, but probably the best iPod on the market. The iPod Touch.

Let me set the scene. My mid life crisis age was looming. I quite my job and booked a month long holiday overseas with my wife that I really couldn't afford. I started a new job and turned 40 all within a month or so.

Then came time for the 40th birthday gift. Was it supposed to or should it be a significant gift? Something to remind me of my age? Nevertheless, as this was going to be joint family gift I wanted it to be something memorable and special.

My wife organized an 8G iPod Touch that was gift wrapped and engraved with a special birthday wish. What a fantastic gift too. Like most people I have had an mp3 player in various styles and brands but an actual iPod and an iPod Touch at that! Well, I was now part of the new world.

Suddenly my age was insignificant. Suddenly I was propelled into the world of instant gratification of music, information, applications, movies, videos, email and internet via wi-fi and iTunes. How I love iTunes. iTunes is like walking into your favorite CD, DVD, book store, utility and game store without straying from your computer screen.

But little did I realize it would get better yet!

• The iPod Touch interfaces with Microsoft Outlook. In my new job I was using Outlook.
• The iPod Touch has a calculator. I'm a sales representative on the road and always need to calculate figures (while driving! more times than not).
• The iPod Touch stores photo's. I can show customers photo's of the product range I am selling.
• The iPod Touch fits in your pocket. You don't need to carry it in a bag.
• The iPod Touch requires the touch of your finger. Information and fun at your.....fingertips (sorry..!)
• The iPod Touch has a fantastic Calendar function. I can make bookings and set tasks that synchronises with Outlook.
• My customers are impressed at how efficient I have become in my new job. This means they buy more from me as I am a complete sales rep who is on the ball!

So the 40th Birthday Gift actually turned out to me pretty darn perfect if you ask me. It's like my non existent AMEX card. I NEVER leave home without it!
